Privacy Notice

This notice describes what information may be collected while Alachua County Recent Arrests is used, why it is used, and when another party may receive it. Continued use signifies acceptance of these practices.

Information You Submit

Queries Sent to Search Providers

A name, location, or other term entered in a third-party search box is transmitted to the company operating that tool. We do not store or log those query terms on our own systems. The provider’s policy governs its handling.

Messages You Send

An email or contact submission is retained as needed to answer it and maintain the related correspondence. We do not share a message beyond our organization unless the law requires disclosure.

Automatically Collected Details

Routine web logs and measurement tools may record technical details when a page loads:

  • Internet Protocol address
  • Browser name and version
  • Device type and operating system
  • Pages viewed and time spent
  • Referring page or site, when supplied
  • Date and time of access

Cookies and Browser Controls

Cookies help measure visits and understand how pages are used. A browser can reject or remove cookies, although parts of the site or an outside tool may then behave differently.

How Information Is Used

Collected information supports limited operational purposes:

  • Keeping pages available and responsive
  • Sending a search to the selected outside provider
  • Learning which information visitors find useful
  • Finding faults and maintaining security
  • Displaying advertising that may reflect general interests

Websites Beyond Our Control

Links may open ACSO rosters, booking-report pages, court and corrections portals, federal locators, or commercial search tools. Once a visitor leaves, the destination’s privacy terms apply. Florida public records displayed by an agency remain governed by that custodian and applicable law, including Chapter 119.

Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across multiple websites and select ads. That tracking occurs under the partner’s technology and policy, not as a database maintained here.

When Data May Be Shared

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may reach:

  • Search providers processing a submitted query
  • Analytics services measuring site use
  • Advertising networks delivering advertisements
  • Law-enforcement or government authorities responding to a valid legal order

Reasonable Security Measures

Standard administrative and technical precautions are used to protect information in our control. No internet service, transmission method, or storage system can be promised to be breach-proof.

Visitors Under Eighteen

This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Get in Touch page to request review and deletion.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law, a person may ask for a copy of personal information we hold, request a correction, seek deletion, or object to certain processing. Send the request through Get in Touch. These requests concern data held here, not an arrest record held by ACSO, a court, or another publisher.

Changes to This Notice

This privacy notice may be revised as practices or legal duties change. The updated version takes effect when posted, with a revised effective date where appropriate.
