Check Alachua County VINELink

VINELink Alachua County is a free way to check custody status after an arrest. It answers a common question fast. Who was arrested in Alachua County, and where are they held now? Florida VINE covers county jails, state prisoners, and supervised offenders across the state. Not every new booking appears right away, though, and fresh arrest data can lag. Federal custody sits outside its reach. The service is not a booking-photo search either. Register for alerts and you get notice when a person is released or transferred; keep the notification PIN private. For urgent questions, contact the agency holding the person directly.

Check an Alachua County Inmate

Gather details that separate the person from others sharing the name. A booking number beats a name. A DC number works too. Partial-name searches catch spelling variants but invite false matches, so read the agency and facility on any result before treating it as the Alachua record.

  1. Open VINELink and choose Florida from the state selection.
  2. Select the offender or person search, then enter the full name or known offender or booking identifier.
  3. If no exact match appears, broaden the name carefully and review each candidate.
  4. Compare the name, identifying details, agency, facility, and reported custody state.
  5. Open only the record that fits the Alachua County Jail or FDC path being checked.
  6. Confirm any urgent result with ACSO, FDC, or the agency named in the record.

A blank result can mean several things. Intake may still be running. The name may differ. The record may not participate, or custody may sit outside the Florida VINE network. For a fresh county booking, check the official ACSO roster. The Daily Arrest Report adds the local same-day confirmation chain.

Compare by custody state. Screen layout means little. The sheriff search may display a booking image and jail fields without offering any alert. VINE may offer alerts without the photo. When both return similar names, use the agency, facility, identifier, and known personal facts to settle the match. If neither source resolves it, Jail Records can name the right Alachua County channel, and ACSO's public-record process can release an existing booking document.

Note: A release event means custody ended as reported, but it says nothing about where the person went next or how the court case ended.

Alachua VINELink Result Fields

Fields vary with the participating record and custody system. Treat the result as a snapshot. VINE identifies the person, names the reporting custodian, and supports alerts. For booking images, intake details, and charges as booked, use the sheriff roster or request the record directly.

Result itemMeaning and limit
Name and identifierIdentity clues that must be compared with known details.
Custody statusThe state most recently reported by a participating agency.
Facility or agencyThe custodian tied to the reported record.
Custody eventA reported release, transfer, escape, death, or out-to-court event when available.
Notification optionA route to register for alerts on the selected record.
Photo and dispositionNot promised by VINE; use ACSO for a booking photo and the Clerk for court results.

Never blend custody states. A county-jail record means local custody. An FDC result means a state prisoner or supervised offender. Neither one proves federal Bureau of Prisons custody, ICE detention, or anything about how the court case turned out.

Custody status
The reported state of confinement or supervision at a point in time.
Transfer
A move from one custodian or facility to another.
Out to court
A temporary movement for a court event, not necessarily release.
Disposition
The court’s result, which VINE does not decide.

Register for Alachua Custody Alerts

Registration attaches to one matched record. Florida offers phone, email, text, and app alerts. Phone sign-up takes an area code plus a four-digit PIN. Use a direct personal number, not a switchboard, and register each phone line separately so every intended number gets the call.

  1. Open the confirmed person record and choose the available notification option.
  2. Select the contact method offered for that record, such as phone, email, text, or app.
  3. Enter the direct contact information carefully. For phone alerts, create the four-digit PIN.
  4. Complete confirmation and keep the PIN where it can be retrieved.
  5. Listen to or read the full alert, including the event and reporting facility.
  6. Confirm a time-sensitive release or transfer with the named custodian.

Florida VINE keeps registrations confidential. Its operator answers day and night. The statewide line is 1-877-846-3435, written as 1-877-VINE-4-FL. Still, do not lean on one channel for a safety-critical fact, since agency data and alert delivery can lag. The VINELink record and registration route shows the kind of dynamic screen a match leads to.

Florida Corrections Alert Differences

FDC Victim Services runs its own direct notification program. VINE and FDC do not share sign-ups. The FDC route can request the inmate's name, DC number, birth date, race, sex, crime, county, sentence, and case number. Its published contact is 1-877-884-2846, staffed weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The split matters once a county case ends in a state sentence. The person may leave the ACSO roster. Later an FDC record appears. VINE can carry participating FDC status, while direct FDC victim notification is a second registration with its own process. Neither one acts as an Alachua County booking feed.

The FDC Victim Services page shows the state's separate contact and registration path.

Confirm an Alachua Custody Change

Treat any VINE alert as a starting point, not a final answer. Look at the event type first. Then check the facility and time. A transfer may simply move a person inside the same system. Or it can hand them to a different custodian entirely. Out-to-court is only temporary. A release event means the reporting agency stopped tracking that custody status, nothing more; it says nothing about the court outcome and cannot rule out a separate hold elsewhere.

Need certainty about an Alachua County Jail event? Call Jail Records at (352) 491-4444. For an FDC event, use the facility or state contact listed in that record. Where safety is at stake, depend on direct confirmation from the agency and any safety plan already in place. Waiting for another automated message is a gamble. VINE itself cautions against serving as the sole source for a safety-critical fact.

Delivery has practical pitfalls too. A changed phone number, a full voicemail box, a filtered email, or a forgotten PIN can all block an alert. Review your live registration when you can. Save the confirmation details. One more caution: never put private contact information into a public records request when the only goal is signing up for a confidential VINE alert.

Alachua VINELink Limits

VINE does not cover federal custody. It is not the Bureau of Prisons locator. It is not the ICE Online Detainee Locator, and it is not a court disposition service. When a county release might have handed someone to a new custodian, the VINE release event cannot tell you where they went. Ask the receiving agency directly.

Fresh Alachua bookings can also lag behind. The ASO Inmate Lookup is the official current-jail search, showing last name, first name, booking number, MNI, booking time, pod, arrest agency, and an image field. ACSO publishes no exact refresh schedule, so a missing row may still call for a quick phone check with Jail Records at (352) 491-4444.

Verify urgent changes: use VINE as an alert service, then confirm release or transfer with ACSO, FDC, or the reporting custodian.

Custody Does Not Establish Guilt

A VINE match shows reported custody information. That is its whole job. For court filings and disposition, the Alachua Clerk's court index is the source. For current local jail detail, the ACSO roster is the source. VINE sits between the two as a status and notification channel. Keeping those roles straight prevents confusion. A custody alert should not stand in for a court record.
